Cross-platform Branding & Theme Support for Android TV and Native Clients

Hi Jellyfin team,

First of all, thank you for the amazing work on Jellyfin. I really appreciate the direction of the project and the effort put into improving the media server experience.

I wanted to ask about the future of cross-platform branding and customization support, especially for native clients like Android TV.

Currently, Custom CSS and branding options work very well on the Web client, and they even partially affect some mobile clients. However, Android TV does not seem to support any of these branding features because it uses a separate native UI.

This creates a limitation for users who want a more unified and polished experience across all devices.

Some examples:

• Watermarks/logos during playback
• Consistent subtitle styling
• Custom themes/branding
• Service identity for family/private streaming servers
• Better cross-platform visual consistency

I completely understand that Android TV is architecturally different from the Web client, but I wanted to ask:

1. Are there any future plans for cross-platform branding support?
2. Will Android TV eventually support some form of themes or branding configuration?
3. Is there any planned stable customization API/system for native clients?

I think this would be extremely valuable not only for self-hosted users, but also for educational servers, family servers, and curated media services.

I'd say this question is not specific to the Android TV client as we have other apps that are native as well. While custom CSS is not going to happen, we do have plans to allow some more customization like changing the Jellyfin logo & icon to something else and perhaps in the future set the color scheme for the apps.
This would all need to be made from a top-down perspective though, starting with server+web and then other clients can adapt.
