Why is the .env file not shown for running projects? #870

When I set up a new compose project, Dockge lets me see and edit the .env file.
Why am I not being shown it‘s contents once the stack is up and running? does this have to do with security or the .env file being a hidden file?
I dont like it this way, I‘d love to know what Im dealing with when I fire up my dedicated Docker compose management service = i.e. Dockge.
