I have been going through the project setup, This project has multiple backend services, each with its own setup and dependencies. It's complex, and I need some clarifications to ensure I can contribute effectively. While the documentation provides a good overview, I am facing some challenges, especially with the backend structure.

Key Issues I Encountered:
1️⃣ Multiple Backends & Dependencies– The project has separate backend services (LMS, AI, and Activity engines), each with its own package.json. I need clarity on how they interact and which one should be started first.

2️⃣ Startup Errors Despite Start Script – Even though the start scripts are defined, I am encountering errors when running npm start or npm run dev. It would be helpful to know if there are any missing configurations or dependencies.

3️⃣ Dependency Conflicts & Installations – Since each backend has its own dependencies, should I install them separately in each service, or is there a central way to manage them?

4️⃣ Docker & Environment Variables – The project mentions Docker usage. Are all services expected to be containerized, or can they run locally? Also, where can I find the correct .env configuration for each service?

5️⃣ Recommended Order for Running Services – Since different engines (LMS, AI, Activity) interact, what’s the expected order to start them to avoid dependency failures? Looking forward to your guidance.

We are currently refactoring and reorganizing various parts of the repository as we transition to the MERN stack.

Developer documentation will be shared with you shortly to help guide you through the updated structure and workflows.

In the meantime, you can begin by running the Express backend code located at:

backend-proctoring/main (master)

Please note: we are using pnpm for package management instead of npm, so ensure you have it installed before proceeding.

Thank you for your patience. We'll be uploading the updated documentation soon. In the meantime, please refer to our GitHub Wiki—even though it's a bit dated, it should give you a clear idea of our project goals.

We've implemented two modules in the new backend: auth and courses. Feel free to test them both, and if you encounter any issues, please let me know in this thread.
