Thank you for creating SmartTube!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for creating and maintaining SmartTube.

For me, SmartTube is much more than an alternative YouTube app for TV. It is an application that gives the user something that seems to be increasingly forgotten by modern software: freedom and control.

The official YouTube experience on TV has become increasingly restrictive and, in many cases, less convenient. Features disappear, options are removed, and users are often left with little choice about how they want to use and organize their own experience.

SmartTube takes the opposite approach.

The huge amount of customization, settings and useful tools allows each user to make the application work the way they actually want. It is much more comfortable to navigate, manage a personal library and control the viewing experience without constantly having the platform decide what is best for you.

I also really appreciate how SmartTube gives older Android TV boxes a new lease on life. Hardware that is still perfectly capable of playing YouTube videos can once again provide features that the official app has removed or restricted over time — including things as simple and useful as playback speed control.

That may sound like a small thing, but it is exactly these kinds of details that make a huge difference in everyday use.

SmartTube is one of those projects that reminds me that software can be designed around the user's needs and preferences, rather than forcing the user to adapt to the limitations of a platform.

Thank you for all the time, work and dedication you put into this project. SmartTube has genuinely made using YouTube on my TV a much better experience.

And thank you for giving users back the freedom to decide how they want to use their own TV and their own content.
