Floci

Floci is a public-data powered city-life assistant built for the 2026 Korea National Open Data Utilization Contest. It combines real-time Korean public APIs — transit, civil complaints, weather, and points of interest — with a Claude-powered AI layer that turns raw government data into useful, conversational answers.

Overview

Korea publishes an enormous amount of public data — buses, weather, civil-complaint cases, geolocation — but citizens rarely interact with any of it directly. Floci is a thin, opinionated interface on top of these datasets: one ask, one answer, grounded in real public data.

The project is an early demo showing how Claude (via the Anthropic API) can orchestrate multiple Korean public-data endpoints and return a coherent, citizen-friendly response.

Getting Started

1. Clone and install

git clone https://github.com/<your-username>/floci.git
cd floci
npm install

2. Configure environment variables

Copy .env.example to .env.local and fill in your keys:

cp .env.example .env.local

You'll need:

• ANTHROPIC_API_KEY — from console.anthropic.com
• PUBLIC_DATA_API_KEY — from data.go.kr
• KAKAO_REST_API_KEY — from developers.kakao.com

3. Run the dev server

npm run dev

Open http://localhost:3000.

About the Project

Floci is being built by Indigo Child (indigochild.co.kr), a Korea-based AI agency. It was submitted to the 2026 전국 통합데이터 활용 공모전 (Korea National Open Data Contest) as a proof of concept for citizen-facing AI applications grounded in public data.
