This is being triggered on the condition $config->MAC_ALGO === 'BLAKE2b' invendor/paragonie/halite/src/Symmetric/Crypto.php

I don't understand why this is being triggered

It wouldn't be such a problem if vendor/paragonie/halite/src/Symmetric/Crypto.php wasn't final

I don't know if the SymmetricConfig class gives you any further clues:
